In a further large compilation of a variety of scientific studies from 2013, it was shown that Aromatherapy with essential oils can have a positive effect on sleep, both in terms of quality, falling asleep and duration.

Looking at all the studies, the most used oil was Lavender which was taken by inhalation.

Sleep quality

In a systematic review from 2015 (a large compilation of a variety of scientific studies) it was shown that Aromatherapy with essential oils can be effective in promoting good sleep quality. The compilation looked at 12 different scientific studies that evaluated Aromatherapy with essential oils for the purpose of promoting sleep quality.
